Learning Outcomes

Social Studies

Students will demonstrate an understanding and appreciation of how the physical geography and natural resources of Canada affect the quality of life of all Canadians.

What Did Students Do?

This week in Social Studies, students had an opportunity to show what they know about Canada's geography. They were invited to draw a map and make a list of what they already know about Canada's provinces, territories and capital cities. Students attempted to draw a map, and note cities and provinces in their visual journal. This was a great way to show where students are starting with their knowledge about Canada's geography.

Then, students had an opportunity to look at a map of Canada, learn the names of provinces, territories and capital cities. Students watched videos and and even heard a fun song. Ask them to tell you more about this. Students coloured and labelled their maps.

It was a great week of learning!
