 What Did Students Do?

Welcome back students and families! We have had a great start to the school year. We have welcomed a number of new families to our Grade 5 class this year. Warmest welcome to the new families here at Andrew Sibbald School.

In math this week, we started by playing the game SKUNK. This is a fun game involving addition and chance! We then began our Place Value work. In small groups, students represented numbers in various different ways.  They reviewed the names of place value numbers to the left of, and including, the ones place.  Students practiced being able to write and verbalize numbers up to 10 000 000 accurately. We started working with four digit numbers.

In Phys Ed, we played a game called Tikki Tikki Coconut. It is a great game to build throwing at a target skills, teamwork, collaboration and communication. Students incorporated strategies for defence and offence.

Ask Your Child
